A Foster/Lambert Production is the twenty-fourth episode of the fourth season finale in this television sitcom on Step by Step, which was aired on ABC on May 12, 1995. It was directed by John Tracy and written both by Howard Adler and Robert Griffard.
Summary[]
Cody assures Carol that his 36 hours of video should last her entire adventure when she goes into labor. J.T. can't be bothered to drive the family to the hospital until Frank jump-starts him hard-handedly, then manages to "forget" the Foster children. So, in the hospital waiting room Cody has little luck trying to make memories since how it all started, and the rare moments Lambert-Foster sibling help occurred lead to a true fraternization. Meanwhile Carol puts Frank in charge of guarding her foolish resolve to have "natural" childbirth without anesthesia, pulling his hair atrociously as soon as contractions come, then scolding everyone once help arrives. Lilly, the first-ever true mixed-blood Foster-Lambert, finally joins the clan.

Trivia[]
- The sign outside the hospital for the Two Rivers Medical Center says "Iowa State Medical Association" even though the show is set in Port Washington, Wisconsin.
- Dana says The Lamberts moved in on September 20, 1991. This was the date the series premiered.
Goofs[]
- Cody tells the kids that the new baby won't have to worry about if it is a Foster or a Lambert, it will be both. This isn't true since Carol herself isn't biologically a Foster. That was the last name of her first husband. In the first season, Carol's mother and unmarried sister are featured, and their last name is Baker. This would be Carol's maiden name, so the baby would be a Baker and a Lambert. Once the baby is born, they are told her name is Lily Foster Lambert (supposedly proving Cody's point.) But it makes no sense for Carol to name her baby after a husband she divorced.
